Founded in 1865 to support newly freed individuals during Reconstruction, the real Freedman’s Bank was mismanaged and closed in 1874—robbing many Black families of their hard earned savings.
This imagined logo reclaims that legacy. Crowned by a laurel wreath and stamped with the motto “We Invest In Us,” the seal represents collective wealth, financial literacy, and Black resilience. It’s a tribute to progress, history, and the ongoing pursuit of self determination.
